A collection of 45 Cinco de Mayo Recipes for Your Festivities - Poet in the Pantry

Yes, yes. Cinco de Mayo is not the holiday we make it out to be in the United States. We’ve been over this before. Still, who am I to rain on anyone’s parade? What’s the problem with some levity? Every good party needs a theme, after all, and this is a pretty harmless one. So … [Read more…]

Broccoli Salad with Bacon

Woman cannot live on cake alone. Every once in a while, some veggies must pass our lips, too. At least bacon makes it better. The first time I saw Broccoli Salad, I wasn’t touching it. Waldorf Salad

Waldorf Salad

Waldorf Salad. It sounds like something you’d find at a pricey hotel, like, I don’t know, the Waldorf-Astoria in NYC. That’s because it is from a pricey hotel, like the Waldorf-Astoria–or was, at least, created there. But not by a highly-acclaimed chef. No, it is the Waldorf Hotel’s maître d’, Oscar Tschirky, who is credited … [Read more…]

Welcome!

poet in the pantry It’s now 2023 and my focus has shifted. I haven’t written a recipe in 4 years. I haven’t worked with clients. I don’t intend to ever again. I don’t even have ads on my blog anymore. There are no new stories to tell. I have moved away from this blog. Food, photography, and writing will always be a part of my world, but it’s time to enter the next phase of my life. Thank you for all of your support over the years. I had no idea back in 2010 that I would reach over 1.7 million people with my thoughts and photos. I never could have done that without you!
