Disclosure: 1800nycbagels.com sent me a dozen bagels for review purposes and is sponsoring the giveaway in this post. While this is a sponsored post, all opinions remain my own.
A few years ago, I shared the wonder that is known as 1800nycbagels.com with you all. They contacted me recently to write an updated review and I agreed–how could I say no to that?
Just like last time, when I opened the shipping box, I found that hunter green gift box inside. What a lovely presentation! This makes me think of all those people in your life who you never know quite what to give them for birthdays, holidays, and other special occasions…wouldn’t it be so much fun to send them a dozen New York style bagels, right from New York? And you don’t even have to gift wrap! Now that’s a win!
I was sent a selection of flavors that included: everything, sesame, poppy, blueberry, plain, and multi-grain. I had to fight off the kids to get these photos–everyone was so excited by this package’s arrival! You may think a dozen bagels is a lot to buy at one time, and maybe it is in normal households. In ours, they were devoured in record time. But if you need to make them last a little longer, 1800nycbagels.com recommends slicing them in half, then freezing. Do not refrigerate. I repeat, do not refrigerate. It’ll kill their texture.
The texture is what I love so much about these bagels. Soft and giving, there’s no reason to toast these. (Don’t real New Yorkers look down on that anyway?) Most of them, I just sliced and slathered with cream cheese.
A few, I decided to transform into sandwiches. The bagels were just so easy to eat anyway and were perfect for capturing those fresh tomato juices dribbling down and piles of ham and cheese. YUM. I wanted to make a bagel BLT, too, but the kids finished them up before I could get to it. Addictive is an understatement, young or old.
I can go on and on and on about how much I love these bagels, but you really have to try them for yourself to understand why I’m so excited about them. Check out 1800nycbagels.com and select a dozen of your own. The price remains $18 for a dozen ($1.50 each), plus priority mail shipping to ensure they get to you super fresh. AND 1800nycbagels.com is graciously offering up a dozen bagels ($18 retail value) in a giveaway for one of my readers!
Want to win that dozen bagels?

That does sound like a good time! Any restaurant recommendations in the area?
The other day I sold some stuff on a ebay auction with free shipping, only got $2 for it and ended up paying $12 for postage! I thought ‘oh well’ I just wanted to get it sent off. Then today I found a ten dollar bill in the street! My good deed came back to haunt me!
See! It all comes around in the end!

Yay! Those one-on-one moments are so important!
Something fun I’ve done is start up painting again. It’s always tough to break a long streak of time without brushes, colors, and canvas, but once I did it all came back to me. 🙂 I love how the creative mind works!
Love this! I’ve been to a few of those cocktails and canvases types classes, but they’re not the same. Good for you for taking it up again!
I spent a lot of time in NYC. And I always order a toasted bagel!
As long as it’s served the way you like it, what difference does it make, right? 🙂
I saw an outdoor movie at the city park recently
I’ve been having lots of fun lately participating in the Passport to CT libraries program with my kids.
I went shopping for new furniture.

I played hookey from work on Monday and treated myself to a spa day! Hot stone massage, manicure, and my first ever pedicure. It was glorious!
Oh, heck yeah! That’s how all Mondays should be!
In the past month and a half my cousin and I started doing home improvements. We’re nowhere near done, but it’s been so much fun. So far we’ve pulled up the carpet in a few rooms, installed a new dishwasher and new stove/oven., added a new desk, office chair, and sofa (by new I mean new to me, but all were free except the chair and stove which were so cheap – all in great condition) We’re in the process of painting the exterior, then it’s onto the interior. I love the way things are looking. I’ve been wanting to do things around here, but just couldn’t afford it. My cousin is an expert in DIY projects and in finding great, used items.
WOW! That’s a lot going on! It must be quite the transformation!
Went to the zoo and participated in an Earth Day Celebration
My son Christopher is graduating from Lyme Academy of Art and we all had a blast at the opening of the senior exhibit 😀
