Every year on Christmas Eve, I host my family for a little shindig. We keep it pretty simple: salad, baked ziti, cheesy garlic crostini, and a bounty of Christmas cookies that we’ve baked anyway. It’s more about spending some time together, now that we’re scattered under different roofs, and making sure we all see each other during the holiday season. The only thing I’m not so great about keeping simple is the bar cart.
It’s not a holiday celebration without something a little fizzy!
Our first Christmas in the house where we now live, I went way overboard. I must have purchased at least 8 bottles of different boozes, just to be sure we had something for everybody. There was eggnog in the fridge. I had beer chilled, as well. Vodka, and whiskey, and moonshine–oh, my! There was so much left untouched and leftover!
It really wasn’t necessary. Pick a signature drink or two and stick with it. Your guests will be absolutely fine with this, and you’ll save your sanity. And when you have something as beautiful as a Cranberry Gin Fizz in the glass, no one will be missing all that other obscure stuff they never would have asked for anyway. They’ll have the perfect sipper to keep them happy!
Cheers! May you have a Holly, Jolly Christmas full of glasses of Cranberry Gin Fizz!

This is!!!! And thanks for stopping by and entering! π
My favourite sweet treat for the holidays would have to be maple pecan butter tarts!!
My favorite sweet treat to make for the holidays are my grandmother’s famous butter rolls.
My favorite holiday treat to make for the holidays are cookies! We always made these snowball cookies growing up (no idea what they’re ACTUALLY called!) with walnuts & powdered sugar. π
Yes, we make those cookies every year! We called them butterballs, but they’re basically Mexican Wedding Cookies/Russian Tea Cakes. All very similar. π
Love this gin fizz. Reminds me of years ago. I will definitely try!
I love making muddy buddy mix!
Holy cats… that looks like the perfect party beverage! I’d rather serve one festive drink like this and have lots of simple nibbles. Thanks much for a new (to me) recipe to try!
This look perfect! I too have had way too many choices and way too many leftover beverages…
This drink looks amazing and the straw takes it over the top! Looks like the perfect addition to our holiday party. Thanks!
I love to make snickerdoodle cookies stuffed with snickers!
