One of my favorite things about photography is the ability to freeze in time the way light and shadow play out. It’s only natural, then, that I’d be drawn to photographing bands. The colored lights in a dark room, the energy, the excitement–it’s irresistible. I don’t always bring my camera along, but when I do, I really enjoy trying to capture the essence of the show. It’s definitely a challenge when you have no control over the light, like in a set up for food photography, and refuse to use a flash, but that’s all part of what attracts me to it.
