It’s back! The gift guide for food lovers 2015 edition!

Gifts for Food Lovers 2015

Or, as I have affectionately called it in the past, my wish list. You know, in case you needed any ideas. πŸ˜‰

Food lovers are my people, and maybe it’s because of that that I find them so easy to shop for. But I realize this isn’t the case for everyone, so I’ve put together a handy-dandy little guide with a few ideas to help check some people off your Nice list this holiday season.

1. The Most BadAss Teacup You’ll Ever See

I pity the fool who skips over this awesome teacup!I’m a sucker for a good pun, so, of course, I couldn’t resist this adorable pink Mr. Tea teacup. I pity the fool who passes on this awesomeness!!

The Etsy shop where you’ll find this–LennyMud–has a great assortment of other odd dishware that’s sure to delight, including a mug with a place to hold your cookies. Ingenious!

2. GelPro Comfort Mats

GelPro Comfort Mats make your time in the kitchen so much more comfortable!Anyone who loves to cook will find him/herself in the kitchen a lot. All that standing on a hard surface can be painful, especially if you have a bad back, like I do. I’ve purchased comfort mats before, but I got what I paid for–very little support and no durability at all. Then I discovered GelPro Comfort Mats. I first learned about GelPro at IFBC in September, as they were a sponsor for the event. I signed up to receive one of their mats for review purposes with no expectations. Boy was I surprised! It didn’t take long after I started using my GelPro Elite in Shagreen Electric Lime that I was **in love**. I want to line my entire kitchen floor with this material–it’s so cushy and comfortable. I have the added pleasure of flat feet and am supposed to wear shoes all the time, but my GelPro mat is so supportive, enveloping my feet in a secure hug that says, “no worries–you can stand here all day long.” It really has made a difference in the amount of time I spend in the kitchen.

And what luck! From Thanksgiving Day throughout the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend, my friends at GelPro tell me that all of their products will be 25% off.Β  Go to to find the right design and color for the chefs on your gift list (or yourself, because that’s cool, too). Make sure you use discount code CYBER15 at checkout!

3. Something Sweet: Desserts, Baked Goods, and Treats for Every Occasion by Miriam Pascal

Something Sweet: Desserts, Baked Goods and Treats for Every Occasion by Miriam PascalWhen I learned that Miriam Pascal of was coming out with a cookbook this year, I rejoiced. No lie! I met Miriam a couple years ago at a food styling photography workshop I attended in NYC. We were all introducing ourselves at the start of the evening and I was a little nervous–the country mouse in the big city. I didn’t get far into my spiel before Miriam exclaimed, to the whole room, that she read my blog. Really? Someone reads my blog? I remember being shocked that someone would even admit to such a thing, and in public, no less–and after, I remembered who she was, for Miriam has been with me from the very early days. (I also remember wondering why she’d be at that workshop, because that girl’s photography is spot on! In fact, she photographed her entire cookbook herself!)

Miriam is known to many as the queen of kosher desserts, and it’s with good reason. She’s taken her family-friendly style suitable for busy, busy bakers into her debut cookbook with excellent results. There’s something for everyone here! She spent a serious amount of time trying to check boxes for every possible scenario, so that Something Sweet: Desserts, Baked Goods and Treats for Every Occasion could become your kitchen resource–not just another cookbook collecting dust on the shelf. Any recipient of this trove should consider him-/herself lucky!

4. Personalized Spoons

Punny gifts like a hand-stamped cereal killer spoon will make recipients smile every time they use them.Yeah, they’re kitschy. But punny gifts make me happy, and who hasn’t plunked down on the couch late at night for a post-dinner (or, perhaps, even dinner) bowl of cereal, escaping to his/her youth? Etsy is full of personalized spoon options, from chosen phrases like “Cereal Killer” to pretty much anything you can imagine that can fit on a spoon.

5. Dragon Cake Pan

Be the Mother of Dragons in your own kitchen with a Dragon Cake pan from ThinkGeek! If your gift recipient is anything like me, s/he probably has a drawer or two filled with cake pans already. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for more–it just needs to be something truly unique to make it worthwhile. With the Dragon Cake Pan, you can be the Mother of Dragons in your own kitchen! So much fun without the need for a lot of fussing.

6. Taco Socks

Taco you can wear your heart on your sleeve. Or, your tacos on your feet.Knock their socks off with taco socks! Yes, your favorite crunchy snack can now cover your tootsies and be with you wherever your feet lead you! It’s like wearing your heart on your sleeve…except it’s tacos on your feet.

7. Craft A Brew Irish Stout Beer Making Kit

With the Craft a Brew Irish Stout Beer Making Kit , you can brew your own beer!I love a great beer. One of my favorite places to go out in town–BackstageEDL–is such because they maintain 40 brews on tap. But I’ve always thought it would be fun to dabble in home-brewing, too. With the Craft A Brew Irish Stout Beer Making Kit, you, too, can play brewmaster. Everything you’d need is included in this kit, taking all the guesswork out of it. And the equipment is reusable, so if you find you enjoy this venture, you can brew over and over again.

No matter what you choose to give as gifts this year, it will be the best, because it came from the heart. Happy Holidays!

Disclosure: I received a GelPro Elite Comfort Mat and a copy of Something Sweet: Desserts, Baked Goods, and Treats for Every Occasion for review purposes. All opinions remain my own.
