Sabra's Greek Yogurt Dips are a healthier alternative for your parties! All the great taste without the guilt!

I’m that kid that isn’t satisfied with just seeing what’s before me–I want to know the how and why. I want to know what makes it work. I want to delve deeper. I want a personal experience. And that has trickled into my adulthood, especially with the food that I eat.

And that’s the really cool part about being a Sabra Tastemaker. Because they have continually given me the opportunity to know the story behind the product–to see for myself how the magic all happens and understand the process, as a result. To have that personal experience with their food that I crave and feel good about what I’m eating because of it.

Sabra Tastemakers touring the Greek Yogurt Dip factory in New York. It's amazing how much they're able to produce in such a small facility--and how much it felt like being welcomed into a family.

Last month, Sabra sent me to their Greek Yogurt Dip factory in Farmingdale, New York to get the inside scoop on the future of dipping.

You may not have seen Sabra’s Greek Yogurt Dips yet–they’re still spreading across the country–but once you find them, you’ll want to hold on to them, because they are just that amazing. 20% of the ingredients in these dips are fresh vegetables. That’s right: wholesome, healthy, fresh vegetables. Roughly 8000 pounds a week of vegetables, actually, go through the Farmingdale factory, where they are cleaned, sliced uniformly (see the photo below), and cooked in small batches in kettles on site before being added to the spices and Greek yogurt that make up the remaining ingredients in the dips. Talk about double-dipping with your dips–a tasty topping AND you’re increasing your daily intake of vegetables with every bite. Sounds perfect to me!

At the Sabra Greek Yogurt Dip factory in New York, they process all of the vegetables for their dips on site. Just look at those cucumbers, ready to be cooked and added to their dips!

Not satisfied with sourcing their yogurt elsewhere, the Greek yogurt for Sabra’s dips is cultured on site for the highest quality and freshness.

The process takes a mere 24-48 hours, from milk to finished dip: an amazing feat when you consider the small size of the operation. This is not a massive warehouse, but that’s all part of the charm. The word family kept going through my head on the tour, because that’s how it felt: like I was welcomed into a home, rather than a place of business. Not a collection of employees there to merely pay their bills–rather, people who are invested in the product, and are there to support each other along the way. And that matters to me.

A new product will be coming soon in the Sabra Greek Yogurt Dip line and I'm really excited about this! This is the most amazing version of Ranch I have ever tasted--I'll be buying it by the case!
…do I see something new?

Psst! I see a new addiction uncovered on this tour. And when this hits the stores, I see a revolution. THIS will make Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips a presence in every home, from coast to coast, replacing gloppy, overly-salted, artificially-flavored dressings with something that you can feel good about eating. I can’t wait!

So how do I make my life refreshingly better with Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips?

My kids are already excellent eaters, but you see that veggie tray there? The one I set up for these photos, with all those gorgeous colors tempting your taste buds, suggesting a great way to serve Sabra at your next party? They decimated it. Two kids–more than enough servings of veggies for one day–10 minutes. Moms and Dads of picky eaters: rejoice! Because this is a way to get your strong-willed offspring to eat more veggies, knowing that you are also offering them a healthier option to optimize flavor. I love it!

Veggie platters are nice, and they’re certainly the obvious choice, but what about other ways to pair Sabra Greek Yogurt Dips in your daily life? I use them as condiments: a mayonnaise replacement on burgers; a sour cream replacement on quesadillas. The flavor boost is phenomenal, and your heart will thank you for ditching the mayo. What else? How about Diced Onions–with onions slowly cooked for 3 hours to achieve a deep, rich caramelization–in your mashed potatoes? Cucumber Dill is fantastic served with cubed pumpernickel bread. And let’s not forget Mediterranean Herb, which pairs so beautifully with chicken. So many options–so little time to eat them all!
