Thanksgiving is coming! That cornucopia of delights laid out on the table to share with one and all–a time for families to pause from the daily grind so they can break bread together. It’s a food-lover’s paradise! What other holiday exists that so unapologetically celebrates partaking of a massive feast? None that I can think of! Thanksgiving is unique in that, steeped in the tradition of sharing our bounty with others. It is the true celebration of love.
There are 2 things that must always be a part of the meal wherever I celebrate Thanksgiving: the turkey, of course, and stuffing. It just doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving without them! Their preparation doesn’t have to be completely traditional–in fact, it’s good to mix things up a bit and try new recipes. But there must be turkey and stuffing. No substitutes are acceptable.
