Have you ever driven down the road and were struck by the perfect composition of a scene that could only be captured from the your position in the car? This happens to me often. The problem is, who the hell wants to stand in the middle of a busy road to try to take that perfect shot?
I had been toying with the idea for some time now, and today, my DSLR finally rode shotgun. Kept on the front passenger seat, I was easily able to grab it at red lights and do my best to take some quick pictures. Really quick pictures. Granted, the quality was not always there–the environment certainly isn’t conducive to a carefully planned photog session–but it did enable some different views. I found myself hoping for red lights (and cursing a few I didn’t get that were near some absolutely stunning architecture).
I will be trying this again… hopefully with better results (and no tickets for driving while distracted!).
Aside from the distracted driving bit I think this is a really cool idea!
